Isokinetic Crude Oil Water Fraction Meter High Accuracy Inline Water Fraction Monitoring
Technical description
The EASZ-1 technology is based on a sensors that are influenced by the dielectric constant of the media surrounding it, i.e. the dielectric constant varies with the change of the fluid make up. Since liquids like water have a high DC compare to that of hydrocarbons, a tiny change in water content is detected and measured.
The EASZ-1 water fraction monitors are state of the art intrinsically safe devices and a proven technology in the field. The output signal is for the water fraction is either reported via analog signal or HART. Set up only requires minutes and since the unit has very few parts, it is simple to troubleshoot.
The instrument is typically installed as a full bore meter into the piping system .This makes it extremely easy to retrofit and install. The bore is equal to the piping, ensuring a 100% “non intrusive” design with no structural changes to the piping system. To enable operators to obtain more accurate results on low or high water content, integral mixers can be supplied as standard to the EASZ-1 to ensure a homogeneous mixture is being electronically sampled.
The above picture is a typical example of a water fraction meter supplied to European oil company requirements . This unit includes an integral mixer and an intrinsically safe local display. The EASZ-1 itself is certified to intrinsically safe standards ATEX Zone 0 /IECEx and fully meets the certification requirements by the European Pressure Equipment Directive.
The units can also be supplied to meet standards pertaining to North America, Canada and Russia.
