The following is an example of a closed loop system designed with densitometer readings.
The end users have the option of Including crude oil density meters of their choice or densitometers manufacturers that have been working with us closely .At times it is necessary to use two densitometers for comparison readings but it all depends on the philosophy of the system and the budget. |
One of the more popular designs is the auto change sample receiver system where the operator can easily visit the crude oil sample location and remove one of the oil containers when it is full. Removal of this container will not upset the sampling operation because the systems are designed to automatically switch over to the back up container loop. The oil and gas company can be assured that when it is time to make the change that there is a remote signal sent to the control room or Scada System by a switch device e.g. sonar or other method that is deemed to be acceptable. When the operator has been alerted it is simply a matter of taking off the receiver that is full of hydrocarbon product to the laboratory and not having to worry that continuous sampling operation has been interrupted in any way.
